HOW IT HAPPENS
The Festival officially begins with the much-loved Festival Jam concert on Thursday, June 8 at 6 p.m., with gates opening for public entrance at 4 p.m., with food vendors only available for this evening. Over the next three days, the rest of the Festival's special events, activities and cultural encounters unfold. The schedule is brimming with great entertainment, food offerings, kids activities, shopping, and more. Festival gates open at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Admission to the Festival is $10 with advance button purchase, or $15 at the gate. Children ages 11 and younger are free. A Festival Button admits you to the Thursday-evening Jam and the three other days of Festival fun—an affordable price for an extraordinary event! Festival buttons can be purchased at various Salina locations and in numerous other regional cities.

Another important way that the Smoky Hill River Festival is supported is through underwriting and donations. More than 300 local individuals and businesses contribute anywhere from $25 to several thousand—gifts that represent 25% of Festival income. A special limited-edition, original Festival Print is provided to those who donate $100 or more. The Festival Print has become an important way we can say thank you and a keepsake for the contributors.
The Smoky Hill River Festival is a project of the Salina Arts & Humanities, a department of the City of Salina. It is envisioned and created by a hospitable and dedicated group of more than 2,000 energized volunteers who invest countless hours to bring this nationally recognized cultural happening to fruition. Supported by enduring community partnerships with businesses and individuals the Festival is an amazing display of Salina's civic pride. As a result of the Festival, more than 3.5 million dollars are invested in the Salina economy each year, in early June.
